Seedance 2.0 pricing is based on input type, resolution (480p, 720p, or 1080p), aspect ratio, and video duration (4–15 seconds). Billing is token-based on the generated video.
There are two input modes:
- •Text / Image-to-video — generate from a text prompt or reference image(s). Both use the same rate, and the per-second cost is stable for a given resolution and aspect ratio.
- •Video-to-video — generate using a reference video clip. Billed at a lower per-token rate, but the reference video itself adds tokens, so the effective per-second cost is variable and typically a bit higher than text/image (see below).
Text / Image-to-video — Per-Second Rates
Multiply by your clip duration to get the total cost.
| Resolution | 16:9 | 4:3 | 1:1 | 3:4 | 9:16 | 21:9 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 480p | $0.0703/s | $0.0691/s | $0.0672/s | $0.0691/s | $0.0703/s | $0.0703/s |
| 720p | $0.1512/s | $0.1522/s | $0.1512/s | $0.1522/s | $0.1512/s | $0.1519/s |
| 1080p | $0.34/s | $0.34/s | $0.34/s | $0.34/s | $0.34/s | $0.34/s |
Video-to-video — Typical Rates
Video-to-video cost depends on your reference video (its resolution and length add tokens), so it isn't a single fixed per-second rate. Typical cost per second of generated output:
| Resolution | Typical | Range |
|---|---|---|
| 480p | ~$0.09/s | $0.07 – $0.13/s |
| 720p | ~$0.19/s | $0.16 – $0.25/s |
| 1080p | ~$0.41/s | $0.35 – $0.50/s |
Quick Cost Examples
| Input Type | Resolution | Aspect Ratio | Duration | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Text / Image-to-video | 480p | 16:9 | 5s | $0.35 |
| Text / Image-to-video | 720p | 16:9 | 5s | $0.76 |
| Text / Image-to-video | 720p | 16:9 | 10s | $1.51 |
| Text / Image-to-video | 1080p | 16:9 | 5s | $1.70 |
| Video-to-video | 480p | 16:9 | 5s | ~$0.45 |
| Video-to-video | 720p | 16:9 | 5s | ~$0.95 |
Important Notes
- •Audio is free — enabling audio generation does not affect pricing.
- •Text / Image-to-video scales linearly — a 10s clip costs exactly 2× a 5s clip at the same resolution and aspect ratio.
- •Video-to-video cost varies with your reference video — a longer or higher-resolution input adds tokens, so cost doesn't scale on output duration alone.
- •Resolution is the main cost lever — aspect-ratio impact is minimal; 480p → 720p → 1080p is what materially changes cost.
Cost Optimization Tips
- •480p for drafts, higher res for delivery — iterate at 480p, render finals at 720p/1080p.
- •Keep reference videos short for video-to-video — input length feeds the token count.
- •Choose aspect ratio by platform: 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels/TikTok/Shorts, 1:1 for social square — cost difference is negligible.
Example Scenario
A team producing 30 clips/day at 9:16, 720p, 5 seconds (text-to-video) spends about $22.7/day ($0.756 × 30), or roughly $680/month.
