ElevenLabs SFX v3: AI Sound Effects Generator
What is ElevenLabs SFX v3?
ElevenLabs SFX v3 is a text-to-sound-effects model that turns a written description into an original, royalty-free sound effect up to 30 seconds long. Describe a single sound - a camera shutter, a creaking door - or a full scene with several sounds happening in sequence, and SFX v3 renders them together as one clip. It is the newest ElevenLabs sound effects model, and its biggest step over SFX v2 is reliability: when a prompt lists multiple sounds, more of them land, in the order you wrote.
Key Features
- Multi-sound prompts: describe several sounds in one prompt and hear them in sequence - a cheer, a ball drop, a boo - without stitching clips by hand.
- Stronger music and vocals: short musical phrases, drum loops and vocal textures sound more convincing.
- Cleaner, natural audio: resonant sounds like gongs, chimes and whistles keep their ring without clipping.
- Seamless looping: generate ambiences and beds that repeat with no audible start or end.
- Duration control: 0.5 to 30 seconds, or let the model pick a length that fits the prompt.
- Flexible output: MP3, Opus or WAV up to 48 kHz, all royalty-free.
Best Use Cases
SFX v3 suits film and trailer sound design, game and interactive audio, Foley for video, UI and notification sounds, and ambient beds for long passages. Because it follows multi-part prompts, you can build a whole scene's sound from one description - start with the main action, add the surroundings, then refine the wording.
Prompt Tips and Output Quality
Describe the action, setting and atmosphere rather than a broad category, and order the events as you want to hear them ("hammer strike, ringing metal, then a steam hiss"). Raise prompt influence for a literal reading and lower it for more variety. Avoid exact repetition counts, which are not always followed. In testing, a layered forge sequence rendered cleanly as an 8-second clip with three distinct, in-order events.
