API Endpoint

POSThttps://api.segmind.com/v1/krea-3-image-edit

Parameters

imagesrequired
string[]

1 to 8 images to edit, restyle or combine. Refer to them in the prompt as image 1, image 2. URL or base64.

Default: ["https://www.krea.ai/ethereal-houses.jpg"]
promptrequired
string

What to change and what must stay the same.

Default: "Turn this into a watercolor painting. Keep the composition and the houses exactly where they are."
aspect_ratiooptional
string

auto keeps the reference image's framing.

Default: "auto"
Allowed values (11 total):
"auto""1:1""4:5""3:4""2:3""9:16""5:4""4:3""3:2""16:9"+1 more
regional_editoptional
boolean

Confine the change to the region the prompt describes and leave the rest of the image untouched.

Default: false
resolutionoptional
string

Output size tier (equal pixel area; exact dimensions follow the aspect ratio). Price scales with the tier.

Default: "1k"
Allowed values :
1k (about 1 MP)→"1k"
2k (about 4 MP)→"2k"
seedoptional
integer

Fix for repeatable results; leave empty for a random seed.

thinking_modeoptional
string

fast for speed; high spends longer reasoning about the prompt before rendering.

Default: "fast"
Allowed values :
"fast""high"

Response Type

Returns: Image

Asynchronous requests (v2)

Use Async for video, long-running (>~60s), or high-concurrency workloads; Sync is simplest for fast image & LLM calls. Async submits a request and you poll it to completion.

  1. 1
    POST /v2/krea-3-image-edit

    Submit — returns request_id, status_url, response_url

  2. 2
    GET /v2/requests/{id}/status

Poll — until COMPLETED or FAILED

  3. 3
    GET /v2/requests/{id}

    Result — final response body

Status states

QUEUED— Accepted, waiting for a worker
PROCESSING— Running on a worker
COMPLETED— Done — result body is ready
FAILED— Errored (incl. content/RAI blocks)
  • A FAILED request is served as HTTP 422 — the body still carries the error detail.
  • An unknown or expired request_id returns HTTP 404.
  • Results are retained for 1 hour, then expire.
  • Content / RAI blocks surface as FAILED, not a separate state.
  • Track completion by polling the status endpoint.
