API Endpoint

POSThttps://api.segmind.com/v1/seedance-2.5-draft-final

Parameters

draft_task_idrequired
string

The draft_task_id returned by a seedance-2.5 render made with draft: true (response header X-Draft-Task-ID, or video.draft_task_id on /v2). Valid for 7 days. The prompt, reference media, duration, aspect ratio, seed, audio setting and task type are inherited from the draft and cannot be changed here.

output_codecoptional
string

Codec of the delivered file. The final render is 1080p, which BytePlus encodes as 10-bit HEVC: 'auto' returns that master untouched (Chrome and Firefox on Windows cannot decode it and will play audio over a blank frame); 'h264' re-encodes it to H.264 High 8-bit yuv420p, which plays everywhere, at the cost of one more generation of compression and half the bit depth. Does not affect price.

Default: "auto"
Allowed values :
"auto""h264"
output_formatoptional
string

mp4 = best compatibility. mov (H.264 + yuv444p + PCM) = higher color fidelity; recommended for video editing/extension round-trips.

Default: "mp4"
Allowed values :
"mp4""mov"
return_last_frameoptional
boolean

Returns the final video frame as a separate image, delivered in the response as `video.last_frame_url`. Chain shots by feeding that URL into the next generation's `first_frame_url`. Note this is an output: it is distinct from the `last_frame_url` input parameter, which is an image you supply to steer how the clip ends.

Default: false

Response Type

Returns: Video

Asynchronous requests (v2)

Use Async for video, long-running (>~60s), or high-concurrency workloads; Sync is simplest for fast image & LLM calls. Async submits a request and you poll it to completion.

  1. 1
    POST /v2/seedance-2.5-draft-final

    Submit — returns request_id, status_url, response_url

  2. 2
    GET /v2/requests/{id}/status

Poll — until COMPLETED or FAILED

  3. 3
    GET /v2/requests/{id}

    Result — final response body

Status states

QUEUED— Accepted, waiting for a worker
PROCESSING— Running on a worker
COMPLETED— Done — result body is ready
FAILED— Errored (incl. content/RAI blocks)
  • A FAILED request is served as HTTP 422 — the body still carries the error detail.
  • An unknown or expired request_id returns HTTP 404.
  • Results are retained for 1 hour, then expire.
  • Content / RAI blocks surface as FAILED, not a separate state.
  • Track completion by polling the status endpoint.

The API returns standard HTTP status codes. Detailed error messages are provided in the response body.
