How Seedance 2.5 pricing works

Seedance 2.5 pricing is based on input type, resolution (480p or 720p), aspect ratio, and video duration (4–30 seconds). Billing is token-based on the generated video, and the per-second cost is fixed for a given input type, resolution, and aspect ratio.

There are two input modes:

  • Text / Image-to-video — generate from a text prompt, a first-frame image, and/or reference images. Billed at the standard rate.
  • Video-to-video — generate using one or more reference videos. Supplying a reference video switches the request to the lower video-input token rate, so it costs less per output second.

Text / Image-to-video — Per-Second Rates

Multiply by your clip duration to get the total cost.

Resolution16:94:31:13:49:1621:9
480p$0.1065/s$0.1046/s$0.1018/s$0.1046/s$0.1065/s$0.1065/s
720p$0.2389/s$0.2404/s$0.2389/s$0.2404/s$0.2389/s$0.2401/s

Video-to-video — Per-Second Rates

Requests that include reference videos are billed at the lower video-input rate. This rate is also fixed per second of generated output.

Important Notes

  • Audio is free — enabling audio generation does not affect pricing; there is no audio term in the rate matrix.
  • Pricing scales linearly — a 10s clip costs exactly 2× a 5s clip at the same input type, resolution, and aspect ratio. Total cost is per-second rate × duration across the full 4–30s range.
  • Reference videos lower the rate — supplying a reference video bills the whole request at the video-input rate, about 40% cheaper per output second than text / image-to-video at the same resolution.
  • Resolution is the main cost lever — 480p → 720p is roughly 2.2× per second; aspect-ratio differences are minimal (within a few percent).
  • Adaptive aspect ratio follows your first frame and is billed at the resolved output ratio (a 16:9 first frame bills at the 16:9 rate).

Cost Optimization Tips

  • 480p for drafts, 720p for delivery — iterate at 480p, render finals at 720p.
  • Match duration to the shot — cost is strictly per output second, so trim to the length you need (4–30s).
  • Choose aspect ratio by platform: 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for Reels/TikTok/Shorts, 1:1 for social square — the cost difference is negligible.
  • Fix the seed to iterate — lock a seed and refine the prompt instead of re-rolling full-length renders.

Example Scenario

A team producing 30 clips/day at 9:16, 720p, 5 seconds (text / image-to-video) spends about $35.84/day ($1.1946 × 30), or roughly $1,075/month.
