API Endpoint

POSThttps://api.segmind.com/v1/kandinsky-6-vsr

Parameters

videorequired
string (uri)

Video to upscale. Up to 121 frames at 24 fps (about 5 seconds); longer clips are rejected, so trim first.

modeoptional
string

pro restores the most detail (5 steps by default). lite is faster and about 16% cheaper (2 steps by default).

Default: "pro"
Allowed values :
Pro→"pro"
Lite→"lite"
num_inference_stepsoptional
integer

Denoising steps per tile. Leave empty for the mode's default (pro 5, lite 2). More steps add detail and cost (about +5% per step).

Range: 2 - 50
seedoptional
integer

Random seed for reproducible results. -1 picks one at random.

Default: -1Range: -1 - 999999999999999
upscale_factoroptional
number

Total upscale applied to the input resolution. 2.25 takes 480p to 1080p and accepts any size; 2 and 4 need the video's width and height to be multiples of 16.

Default: 2.25
Allowed values :
2x→2
2.25x→2.25
4x→4

Response Type

Returns: Video

Asynchronous requests (v2)

Use Async for video, long-running (>~60s), or high-concurrency workloads; Sync is simplest for fast image & LLM calls. Async submits a request and you poll it to completion.

  1. 1
    POST /v2/kandinsky-6-vsr

    Submit — returns request_id, status_url, response_url

  2. 2
    GET /v2/requests/{id}/status

Poll — until COMPLETED or FAILED

  3. 3
    GET /v2/requests/{id}

    Result — final response body

Status states

QUEUED— Accepted, waiting for a worker
PROCESSING— Running on a worker
COMPLETED— Done — result body is ready
FAILED— Errored (incl. content/RAI blocks)
  • A FAILED request is served as HTTP 422 — the body still carries the error detail.
  • An unknown or expired request_id returns HTTP 404.
  • Results are retained for 1 hour, then expire.
  • Content / RAI blocks surface as FAILED, not a separate state.
  • Track completion by polling the status endpoint.
