Kling 4.0 Image to Video API
Animate images into 3-30s 1080p video with native audio.

first_frame_imagerequiredstring (uri)Required starting image (JPG/PNG, min 300x300 px, up to 30 MB). Use a sharp frame whose subject can clearly move.
durationoptionalintegerOutput length in seconds (3-30). Use 5-10s for most clips; go longer only for sustained action.
5Range: 3 - 30last_frame_imageoptionalstring (uri)Optional end image; Kling animates between the two frames. Add it to define a clear transition.
promptoptionalstringOptional text directing the motion, camera and sound. Describe what moves, not the image already shown.
"The camera slowly orbits as the subject turns toward it and smiles, gentle breeze, warm natural light, soft ambient sound."resolutionoptionalstringOutput resolution, 720p or 1080p. Choose 1080p for final hero clips, 720p for faster drafts.

Returns: Video
Asynchronous requests (v2)
Use Async for video, long-running (>~60s), or high-concurrency workloads; Sync is simplest for fast image & LLM calls. Async submits a request and you poll it to completion.
- 1
POST /v2/kling-4-image-to-videoSubmit — returns request_id, status_url, response_url
- 2
GET /v2/requests/{id}/statusPoll — until COMPLETED or FAILED
- 3
GET /v2/requests/{id}Result — final response body
Status states
- A FAILED request is served as HTTP 422 — the body still carries the error detail.
- An unknown or expired request_id returns HTTP 404.
- Results are retained for 1 hour, then expire.
- Content / RAI blocks surface as FAILED, not a separate state.
- Track completion by polling the status endpoint.
