MiniMax Hailuo H3 Highspeed Reference to Video API
Keep a character, product or place consistent across AI video.

promptrequiredstringDescribe the subject, scene and motion, up to 7000 characters. Name references as 'the X in Image 1'; give one action and a camera move.
durationoptionalintegerClip length in seconds, 4 to 15. Use 4-6s for short social loops, up to 15s for a longer action.
6Range: 4 - 15ratiooptionalstringOutput aspect ratio; 'adaptive' follows the references. Use 16:9 for landscape, 9:16 for vertical, 1:1 for square.
"adaptive""adaptive""21:9""16:9""4:3""1:1""3:4""9:16"reference_audiosoptionalstring[]Up to 3 WAV/MP3 clips, 2-15s each (15s total), such as a voice to follow. Add to steer spoken delivery or a sound.
reference_imagesoptionalstring[]Up to 9 images of a character, product or place to keep consistent. Use 1-3 clean shots of the subject on a plain background.
reference_videosoptionalstring[]Up to 3 MP4/MOV clips, 2-15s each (15s total), to borrow motion, style or a character. Add to make the output follow a specific movement.
resolutionoptionalstringOutput resolution; 768P is the only option on the Highspeed tier. Use the standard H3 tier when you need 2K.

Returns: Video
Asynchronous requests (v2)
Use Async for video, long-running (>~60s), or high-concurrency workloads; Sync is simplest for fast image & LLM calls. Async submits a request and you poll it to completion.
- 1
POST /v2/minimax-h3-highspeed-reference-to-videoSubmit — returns request_id, status_url, response_url
- 2
GET /v2/requests/{id}/statusPoll — until COMPLETED or FAILED
- 3
GET /v2/requests/{id}Result — final response body
Status states
- A FAILED request is served as HTTP 422 — the body still carries the error detail.
- An unknown or expired request_id returns HTTP 404.
- Results are retained for 1 hour, then expire.
- Content / RAI blocks surface as FAILED, not a separate state.
- Track completion by polling the status endpoint.
Common Error Codes
The API returns standard HTTP status codes. Detailed error messages are provided in the response body.
