API Endpoint

POSThttps://api.segmind.com/v1/p-image-ideogram

Parameters

promptrequired
string

Describe the image you want generated. Example: 'a typographic travel poster for the French Riviera'.

aspect_ratiooptional
string

Shape of the output image. Choose 'custom' to set width and height directly.

Default: "1:1"
Allowed values :
"1:1""16:9""9:16""4:3""3:4""3:2""2:3"
Custom (set width & height)"custom"
heightoptional
integer

Output height in pixels. Requires aspect ratio 'custom'. Width x height must fit the selected image size: up to 2097152 px for 1K, 4194304 px for 2K.

Default: 1024Range: 256 - 2560
image_sizeoptional
string

Output resolution tier. 2K renders roughly 4x the pixels of 1K and costs twice as much.

Default: "1K"
Allowed values :
"1K""2K"
output_formatoptional
string

File format of the generated image.

Default: "jpg"
Allowed values :
JPG"jpg"
PNG"png"
WEBP"webp"
output_qualityoptional
integer

Compression quality for JPG and WEBP output. Ignored for PNG.

Default: 80Range: 0 - 100
prompt_upsamplingoptional
boolean

Automatically expand short prompts into richer descriptions before generating.

Default: true
seedoptional
integer

Set a seed for reproducible generation. Use -1 for a random result each time.

Default: 42Range: -1 - 999999999999999
thinkingoptional
string

Quality level. Higher levels reason longer for better prompt adherence and detail, and cost more.

Default: "high"
Allowed values :
Very low (fastest, cheapest)"very low"
Low"low"
Medium"medium"
High (best quality)"high"
widthoptional
integer

Output width in pixels. Requires aspect ratio 'custom'. Width x height must fit the selected image size: up to 2097152 px for 1K, 4194304 px for 2K.

Default: 1024Range: 256 - 2560

Response Type

Returns: Text/JSON

Asynchronous requests (v2)

Use Async for video, long-running (>~60s), or high-concurrency workloads; Sync is simplest for fast image & LLM calls. Async submits a request and you poll it to completion.

  1. 1
    POST /v2/p-image-ideogram

    Submitreturns request_id, status_url, response_url

  2. 2
    GET /v2/requests/{id}/status

Status states

QUEUEDAccepted, waiting for a worker
PROCESSINGRunning on a worker
COMPLETEDDone — result body is ready
FAILEDErrored (incl. content/RAI blocks)
  • A FAILED request is served as HTTP 422 — the body still carries the error detail.
  • An unknown or expired request_id returns HTTP 404.
  • Results are retained for 1 hour, then expire.
  • Content / RAI blocks surface as FAILED, not a separate state.
  • Track completion by polling the status endpoint.
